I just received the cover for the first book today.  The team at Rebel Ink Press are amazing!  It finally seems real.  I can't wait to share the book with everyone.
The editor is currently working on Schooled.  This past weekend, she let me preview the prologue so I'd get a glimpse of what she's doing.  She's definitely making the story flow better.  I'm truly blessed to be working with the experienced people at RIP.
Here's a sneak peak at the cover.

Bye for now,

Michelle

Hey!  My summer is just about over.  Teachers return to work on Monday.  It's funny how summer vacation always goes by so fast and the school year drags.  I am excited to see the students and how much they've grown over the summer.
I just finished the first revision on the third book.  I've been working hard because I know after tomorrow, I won't have much time to write.  My goal is to revise the story one more time and then a final check for mistakes and send it off to Rebel Ink Press by the last day of August.
Yesterday, the fourth book started to form in my mind.  The same thing happened with the previous books.  Today while I waited for my son to be fitted for his band uniform, I developed the main characters' physical and personality traits.  I was there for a long time waiting.  I'm now carrying around a spiral to jot down ideas for the fourth installment in the series.  I'm relieved that the next plot is coming together but it stresses me out a little because I still haven't finished book three.
Rebel Ink Press celebrated their third anniversary this week.  Congratulations!  I can't wait to be one of their published authors.
I will continue to blog over the next couple of months in hopes that after my first book is released, someone will read the posts.
     Bye for now.

Hey!  I just finished the first draft of the third book in The Teacher Series.  Once the story starts to form in my mind, I have to get it out.  Scenes pop into my head and I'm so forgetful that I have to write them down immediately or I won't remember.  I think it's a symptom of old age.  This morning, I woke from a dream that was the final chapter in the book.  That's the first time I've worked out a scene in a dream.
Writing the first draft is always my favorite part because I'm excited to tell the story.  Now comes the revising and editing which isn't as much fun to me.  The story will go through several rewrites with me adding details, names, and more complex sentences.
I start back to work in just over a week, so my goal was to get the rough draft done before that.  I finished it a week before schedule!  I would have finished a long time ago if I didn't waste so much time crushing candy.  I really wish I never would have started the game because I can't seem to stop playing it.  I'm currently stuck on level 182.  Ugh.
With the first two books in the series, scenes for the next book started formulating in my mind before I finished the book I was working on.  I wonder if that will happen this time as well.
Gracie was sleeping in my lap when I finished it.  She wasn't all that excited when I pulled the covers back to tell her.
     Bye for now.
This is Gracie!

Hello!  I'm Michelle and this is my blog.  I would like to say that I'm a twenty-something, blonde hair, blue eyed, gorgeous model that leads an adventurist life.  BUT that would be a lie.  I'm actually a forty-something, overweight, married, mother of two that lives a boring life.  The truth is over-rated.
I was born and raised around Indianapolis.  I met my husband in high school and we've been married for 24 years.  Seventeen years ago, we relocated to Texas and been here ever since.  We have two great teenagers in our house, Jessie and Nate.  The center of the Lowhorn's universe is a 1 year old pug named Gracie.
I'm blessed to have a job that I love and you guessed correctly, I'm a teacher.  Just like every year, my summer is skyrocketing towards fall and once again, I'm not ready.
I'm seriously obsessed with romance novels and I owe a thank you to husband for not complaining too loudly about all the money I spend on this particular obsession.
Since I was a young girl, I've always had a secret dream to be an author.  Around a year ago, I decided it was time to really give it a try.  A month ago, I finished the second book in The Teacher Series.  I gathered my courage and sent the two books to the publisher.  I prepared myself for rejection and checked my email a hundred times a day.  One week later, Rebel Ink Press sent me the dreaded email.  Before I clicked the button, I told myself that it didn't matter if they liked the books or not.  It was early morning (in a teenager's world) when I opened the mail.  When I realized they were offering me a contract, I started yelling and running around the house.  It was the most physical exercise that I've gotten in years.  As I continued to run, actually it was more like a power walk, I called my husband and attempted to tell him the good news.  Unfortunately by that time, I was out of breath from all the exercise.  My son emerged from his room, still mostly asleep, and figured out what I was trying to say.  He took the phone from me and told my husband the good news.  Since then, things have been busy.
I designed a website and blog.  For someone who isn't that computer savvy, I haven't done too bad.  I do have Go Daddy technical support on speed dial and I envision that the techs do rock, paper, scissors every time my number shows up.
At this point, the editor hasn't lost her patience with my numerous emails.  So I'm taking that as a good sign!  Her latest response said that the cover and blurb should be on my desk (or bed for me because that's where I do all my typing) by the end of the month.  I'm so excited that I feel like a small child who can't wait for Christmas.
I'm going to try to blog regularly, even though I know that no one is reading it yet.  Good bye for now from Gracie (sleeping in my lap) and me.
