                                          20 Days Left!!!!

Hey Everyone,

Not much longer and I will be a legitimate author.  I'm just pretending to be one until October 17th.

On my way to work this morning, two more scenes popped into my head for book number four.  I wrote them down as soon as I got to work.  Otherwise, I would forget them.  It stinks getting old.  I still have to finish the pre-edits for book two, finish book three, and then I can start on book four.  My head hurts just thinking about it.

It's Friday night and in Texas that means high school football.  I need to leave soon, so I can see the half time show.  My husband and I both played trumpet in the high school band.  That's how we met, he was my squad leader.  So when our daughter was old enough, she played the trumpet and now our son plays trumpet.  Crazy.

Have a great weekend and here is tonight's sneak peak.

The car Emmelynne drives in the book is my dream car.

25 days until Schooled is released!

Hey everyone,

We're down to 25 days now.  Since the day I received the email that Rebel Ink Press wanted to publish my books, I've been crazy excited.  Now that it's getting close, I'm adding anxiety to my emotions.  I want people to love reading the book as much as I loved writing it.  I'm totally overwhelmed!
I just returned Schooled back to the editor for the last time.  I'm so thankful that RIP offered to  publish the series.  If they hadn't, I would have tried self-publishing and the book wouldn't have been as good as it is now.  I've learned so much from my editor that I wouldn't have learned otherwise.
Thank you for your dedication and patience, JT.  I know that she won't read this but I needed to say it anyway.
I've decided on where to spend my marketing dollars finally.  I'll pass the info along once I get final confirmation on the spots.
Once again, I'm going to release a small bit of info about the book.

Emmelynne's teammates are based on real people.  I owe them a huge thank you for allowing me to exaggerate their personalities and then poke fun of them.  Not only are they phenomenal teachers but their great friends.

                    30 Days and Counting!

Hey everyone!

I'm getting really excited!  Schooled, Book 1 in the Teacher Series will be released on Oct. 17th!!!! I've already used multiple exclamation points here and I've been cautioned to use them sparingly, so I must be feeling over the top this evening!  I better contain myself before someone calls the cops.
Rough day at school, so I met a dear friend for dinner and she always puts me in a positive mood (she's a character in the  first book).  And I'm pleased to announce my silly mood is not a by-product of alcohol.
Starting tonight, I'm going to release small bits of information about the book.

The lead female characters in the series have bits of my personality.  So when you read Schooled, you'll have to guess which of her many annoying, slightly offensive quirks are mine.

Bye for now!

Hey everyone!

Schooled will be released on October 17th!  I'm both excited and nervous.  I have to say that the process of publishing a book is nothing like what I envisioned.  It's a lot of work!  I thought writing the book would be the most difficult part but now I'm not so sure.  I'm hoping after the first book is released that I'll glide through the process on the second one.
The title has been decided on book two.  It'll be called Lessons, Book 2 in The Teacher Series.  Boy do I struggle with titles.  Nothing seems to encompass the whole story.
I've been working on setting up a marketing plan.  I promised my husband I wouldn't go overboard so I'm researching to make sure I get the biggest bang for my buck.  It's going to be difficult to stretch my tiny budget but I'll make it work.

Bye for now.

Hey!  I hope everyone is enjoying Labor Day.  My family didn't do anything for the holiday.  It was nice to have the day off.   It rained all morning which is a pleasant change for Texas.  Currently I'm watching my neighbor reel in a big catfish from the pond behind our houses.  I've totally enjoyed a nice relaxing weekend.
I just finished the pre-edits for book two.  Tomorrow evening I'll be able to get back to book three.  I really hope to finish it before the end of September.  As soon as I have the exact release date of Schooled, I'll start setting up some marketing.  I was so excited to see the cover for the first time.  I'm waiting on the editor to send the story back with her edits.  Because this is my first release, I'm impatient.  I need to relax and stop stressing about the whole process.
A couple of weeks ago, Nate came in the bedroom to talk.  Of course I was typing away at my computer.  Gracie emerged from the covers and wanted him to hold her and rub her belly.  While we talked, Gracie fell asleep in his lap.  I had to take a picture because she was so darn cute.

Bye for now.
